Warwick Castle Trip
Year 2’s Magical Trip to Warwick Castle!
This week, Year 2 embarked on a fantastic adventure to Warwick Castle, kickstarting their new learning theme, Castle Quests. The trip was filled with excitement, discovery, and plenty of opportunities to bring history to life!
The children were treated to a lively performance of Zog, the beloved dragon story that had everyone laughing and learning about bravery and friendship. The excitement continued as the children gathered for the thrilling Falconer’s Quest, where they watched majestic birds of prey soar through the sky — a truly unforgettable sight!
One of the highlights of the day was the trebuchet show. The children were amazed to see this giant medieval catapult in action, and they learned how it was used in battles long ago.
The adventure didn’t stop there — Year 2 bravely climbed the Conqueror’s Fortress, discovering stunning views from the top. As they explored, they learned that Warwick Castle is a motte and bailey castle, originally built by William the Conqueror over 900 years ago!
The trip was a perfect way to spark curiosity and set the stage for our upcoming learning in Castle Quests. Well done, Year 2 — what a brilliant start to your medieval journey!
