Coten End Primary School
Week Begining 25/11/24
As we pass the halfway mark for this half-term, we are excited to share the wonderful experiences our Year 1 pupils have engaged in over the past few weeks. Recently, in our curious quest, we delved into a delightful book by Nathan Bryon titled Look Up!, which inspired our imaginations and encouraged us to think creatively. We had a splendid time using our -est and -er suffixes to create magnificent new worlds and places to visit in space. The children’s creativity truly shone as they described their fantastical adventures!
In mathematics, we have been focusing on numbers leading up to 20. The children have been developing their counting skills and understanding of number patterns, which has been both engaging and rewarding.
Additionally, we were thrilled to welcome a visit from the Guide Dogs for the Blind, who shared invaluable insights about their amazing animals and the care involved in training them. This experience not only broadened our understanding of these remarkable companions but also instilled in our children a sense of empathy and respect for service animals.
The children also had a fantastic time at the Christmas fair, fully engaged in the Christmas spirit! Not long to go now children!! We look forward to more exciting adventures as we continue our learning journey together!
