Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 29th September
In Maths this week, we have finished our unit on place value and have now moved on to addition and subtraction. We have started by revising our number bonds to 10 and using them to solve mental addition calculations within 100.
In English this week, we have published our information texts, turning them into leaflets and booklets and illustrating them with images of our stone age animals. We are now moving on to our next English unit which is all about coordinating conjunctions and how to use them in our sentences.
In our History lesson this week, some of us began to make our stone age houses in groups! We used the materials we had brought from home and collected some natural materials from around the school site to begin constructing our models. We’re hoping to have them all finished next week.
In Science this week, we have been zoologists, studying the skeletons of different animals and comparing them to human skeletons. We have identified vertebrates and invertebrates and talked about how animals’ skeletons are adapted to help them move.
